Creative Computing in Film

In this talk, Estela Oliva will explore how emerging technologies are revolutionising the way films are produced and experienced. Drawing from her own experience as an artist and filmmaker, as well as through her project CLON, Estela will focus on the potential of games engines, video games and virtual production tools in bringing ideas to life in radical new ways. Estela will also touch upon how immersive technologies such as VR and mixed reality are redefining storytelling, challenging the role of the audience, while creating new art forms and distribution opportunities. Finally, she will also discuss the impact and considerations of emerging AI tools available to filmmakers and artists.
