Open Mic
Our Open Mic is a chance for anyone to have a short live coding music (or adjacent) slot (5-10 mins, depending on demand) to perform in a supportive environment. Just bring your laptop and plug it in.
No performance experience is needed - this is a great chance to take that first step! We will have support from an experienced performer who can help you if you get stuck.
To sign up, please turn up from 6.30pm on the day. Signups will be on a first come first served basis and we will aim to include as many people as we can within the timeslot.
Performers
MYNA
MYNA is a northern based artist, heavilty influenced by music from the African diaspora and beyond, focussing on drum heavy, bass heavy music, with a flair for mixing this with afro-centric selections.
collapse
collapse creates live-coded music using Tidal Cycles and Ableton, inspired by IDM, dancehall, reggaeton and baile funk.
+777000 and nunez
Using TidalCycles and Hydra, +777000 and nunez collaborate to create club-focused algorave performances driven by the fun, the weird, the naive, and the familiar. The work incorporates elements from online culture both musically and visually, striving for a balance between going hard and going cute. Expect sample based chaos, stock images, memes, dusty pop songs, and the feeling of watching YouTube videos at a friends house.
Heavy Lifting vs Graham Dunning
Lucy (Heavy Lifting) will be performing in collaboration with Graham Dunning. Building on their previous collaboration Graham and Lucy will be improvising with an intermingled live code/mechanical techno set up. You can get their 2022 album 'hurlothrumbo' via Fractal Meat Cuts.
